WAG 10748

A caricature of Andrew Barclay Walker by 'Lib' appeared in Vanity Fair on 7 June 1890. It is different from this one, but shows the artist working up designs and ideas for publication. Prosperi worked under the name 'Lib' and produced caricatures for Vanity Fair. His 1886 multi-portrait caricature The Lobby of the House of Commons is displayed in the Victorian Gallery of the National Portrait Gallery. He depicted statesmen, the racing set, intellectuals, actors and royalty among others, producing 55 caricatures in total for Vanity Fair between 1885 and 1903.
