Green glazed faience sistrum handle. The handle is decorated with two columns of hieroglyphic text and a feather pattern. The two inscriptions are identical: "An offering the king gives for Ra-Horakhty, give Life, Prosperity, and Health". On a wooden mount with handwritten label: ANCIENT EGYPTIAN a unique COLUMN in glazed faience with sunken hieroglyphics back + front. B.C. 1100. RARE & CURIOUS CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, chipped, worn, discolouration, surface dirt. Compare with Brooklyn Museum, no. 37.1697E.
