Sistrum handle (or mirror handle?) with lotus base with figure of a squating monkey above this. Bottom of the base is a square hollow for the insertion of a handle. CONDITION NOTE (1998): incomplete, worn, surface dirt. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no. 212884. Purchased for Sir Henry Wellcome at Stevens' auction house, London, 29 July 1930 Lot 497 "Framed cloth from a mummy, unrolled at the College of Surgeons in 1834; part of an inscribed sistrum, 16 moulds for amulets, copper axe head, and a number of antiquities all from Egypt".
