Copper alloy situla with a handle of heavy wire passed through loops on the rim. The exterior is decorated in low relief with a procession of deities. Lotus ornament round the base. Situla is a Latin word for bucket, and this object would have contained a liquid and be used during religious rituals in a tomb or temple. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Corroded, with patches of fresh corrosion, concretions.
