Sixpence, 1856. The obverse of the coin depicts an uncrowned young Queen Victoria. This was the most common image of Victoria used on coins from 1838 until 1887 when it was replaced with the Jubilee Head. The reverse of the coin is inscribed with the letters “SIX PENCE” under a royal crown. At the bottom of a coin is a large wreath which reaches up along the side of the coin to the crown. The date sits at the bottom of the coin, below the wreath.
