Skyphos

Drinking cup, skyphos with a round wide base, a conical body, wide open mouth and side handles which tilt upwards. The cup is decorated in the black-figure technique: the overall body of the cup is in black slip and the upper part with the band in the colour of clay and black figures of horseman in the middle and two warriors on each of his side. On the reverse side there is a similar scene but this time on the warriors looks like he is chased by the horseman rather than combating him.On the sides of the main scene there are small palmettes. The figures are rather schematic but there is a sense of the action. The interior of the cup is in black shiny slip.
