Information
A wax relief on slate modelled by Camillo Pacetti (1758-1826). The design is copied from a sculpture in the Capitoline Museum in Rome. Wedgwood orderd copies of sculptures, like this, which he could make in jasper. The relief depicts Endymion, the eternally sleeping shepherd and lover of Selene.
LL 1392 shows the design made into a jasper tablet.
