Information

Kerma ware pottery jar, bag-shaped jar with flaring neck and spount that is now missing. It is handmade, with very thin walls, red polished surface with black top and interior. Described as "Black topped pot from Nubia" in the inventory of objects allotted to Liverpool from the Mond bequest prepared by Dr I. E. S. Edwards of the British Museum in 1939. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Large area of surface loss, hole in side, discolouration, surface dirt, chipped.
