Springtime

This fantasy garden with arms growing out of the soil is typical of Jardine’s work. He liked to explore the world of dreams and the imagination in his paintings. Springtime was one of the earliest paintings he did in a Surrealist style. Jardine was a keen gardener and created a strange garden at his house in Wallasey. He used it as inspiration for his paintings.
