Information

Square vase with straight sides, slightly tapering downwards, flat shoulders, rounded at the angles, and straight neck with flaring mouth. On the sides are panels with rocks, lotus plants, chrysanthemum, peony, and pomegranate in blossom; in famille verte enamels in a composite black ground. On the shoulders are lotus scrolls, and on the neck flowering branches. Neck repaired. Mark of the Chenghua period (1465-1487 AD) in six characters in blue in a square sunk panel, but the vase is of Kangxi date.
