Information
Headless kneeling diorite male figure which is inscribed on the back pillar, on the apron and round the base. The torso has been well modelled and the stone is polished. Bernard Bothmer believed the statue came from Athribis (letters from him in the history file).
The piece was purchased for the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at Glendining's on 15 August 1932, Lot 460: "Egyptian black stone seated figure with inscription (no head).
