Fragment of a plinth (?) for a statue (perhaps of Ptah), with inlaid inscription. Very glassy faience. Previously described as the corner from an offering table. Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 26 June - 6 July 1922 (MacGregor collection) Lot 168/9 "Three Tiles, in pale green glazed pottery, all with Utchats in relief, 5 1/2 in. by 5 in. by 4 3/4 in. by 3 3/8 in.; a portion of a Tile, forming the upper part of a figure of Horus, in blue glazed pottery, 3 7/8 in. high; and five other pieces, one with portion of an inlaid inscription". CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, chipped, surface loss, label adhered to surface (pencil 168/9)
