Information

Wooden figure of a man standing in a walking pose with left leg forward and both hands clenched and held beside the waist. Wearing short kilt known as a shendyt. Held in place by pegs on a rectangular pedestal. Pale colour which may be the remains of a once stucco coating that was beneath a polychrome exterior. Norwich Castle Museum acquisition details record that it was acquired by Henry Haggard in Luxor, 1924 (remains of a label stuck to the base). Has previously been described as from the Middle Kingdom but is more likely to be later, from the Second Intermediate Period/early New Kingdom.
