Forgery of an ancient Egyptian antiquity acquired by Sir Henry Wellcome before 1936. Raised relief with standing figure of a pharaoh before a cartouche with the throne name of Amenhotep III (Nebmaatra). Label on the back reads, "An Egyptian stele in granite with figures in relief of Amenhotep III before a table of offering, cartouche of the ... 10 in. by 5 3/4 in.". CONDITION NOTE (1998): Surface dirt, worn, loss of pigment. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum no. 114730. Purchased at Glendinnings 29 July 1932.
