Stela (Forgery)

Forgery of an ancient Egyptian antiquity purchased by Sir Henry Wellcome for £5.10.0 in 1936. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Chipped edges, scratched edges, surface dirt, label adhered to surface. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no. 174892: "STELE. Around-topped STELE, in limerstone, representing in low relief a man kneeling before Apis; below are three lines of incised hieroglyphs giving his name and predigree. Saite.
