Forgery of an ancient Egyptian stela acquired by William Hesketh Lever from the excavations committee of the Liverpool Institute of Archaeology, in return for his subscription to a season of excavations at Abydos in 1907. The stela appears in a photograph taken at Abydos in 1907 (no. A640) with 5 other stelae, most of which appear to be from the Roman Period. Lady Lever Loan 1968 MS, "Oblong white limestone stela with plumed ornament at top, 4 plumes painted red. Three panels under this each with 2 figures & hieroglpyhic inscriptions above. Provenance?".
