Storm Scene

Sheffield was born in Wigton in Cumberland (now part of Cumbria) in 1839 and grew up in Warrington. He became a member of the Royal Academy in 1871. He predominantly painted landscape and coastal scenes. He was influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites.
