Stormy Coast with Black Crag
WAG 6374
Information
This drawing was acquired with a collection of drawings by Samuel Williamson (1792 - 1840) in a portfolio labelled 'S. Williamson sketches' from the Mayer Collection (WAG 6371 - 6414). It was previously attributed to Williamson but is now thought to have been made by a member of the British School. It is similar to 'A Stormy Coast' (WAG 6371) in composition, but it shows more details through refined pencil strokes delineating the contour of the black rocky crag on the left.
