Information

Ranken was a prolific painter and worked in oil paint and watercolour as well as oil pastels. His work includes portraits, interior scenes, landscapes and still lifes. His subjects included the British Royal Family and aristocracy. He travelled to America in the mid 1920s and had many exhibitions of portraits and interiors, but, affected by the Great Depression, he returned to England in the 1930s.
