Wedgwood studied at Liverpool School of Art (1919 - 1921) and the Royal College of Art. He won the prestigious Prix de Rome in Engraving in 1925, and lived in Rome from then until 1929. He taught at the Liverpool Institute and the Liverpool School of Art in the 1930s. Liverpool University holds a large collection of prints by Wedgwood, the majority of which were collected by Sydney Jones, Wedgwood's patron and major benefactor of Liverpool University. This may have been drawn during Wedgwood's time in Italy, given the style of the buildings.
