Information

Dr William Brogden Paterson was a great friend of Edward Halliday and also the family's Doctor. On leaving the Liverpool College in 1919, Halliday wanted to study art at the Liverpool School of Art. His father James Halliday protested this direction and insisted that he study accountancy. Dr Paterson negotiated a compromise that allowed Halliday to study art while also attending evening classes in accounting.
