Study for the Wise and Foolish Virgins

This is one of many preparatory drawings for 'The Wise and Foolish Virgins'. The Walker's painting of the subject (WAG 2649) is one of three. There is a small oil version at the Herbert Art Gallery in Coventry and a narrow upright painting dated 1917 in Northampton Art Gallery. The figure with arms raised above her head may relate to the Northampton composition.
