Sun Dial Pedestal

Pillar associated with an ancient sundial (59.148.128a). There is a panel of carved decoration with an inscription above and below. The text is based on information from De Architectura by Vitruvius and the Satyricon by C. Petronius respectively, although neither is a copy from the texts.
