John Pedder (1850 - 1929) was born on St. George's Day in Liverpool in 1850. After working briefly in a shipping office, he went on to study at the School of Art and Academy in order to become a painter. In 1883, Pedder married Lydia Eastwood and moved to London. From 1875, he began exhibitig at the Royal Academy and at the L.A.E from 1871.
