Information
This t-shirt was worn at Liverpool Pride 2012 by one of the team of Pride volunteers. The T-shirt is one of the many official branded items sold to raise money to stage the event. Liverpool Pride 2012 was held 4-5 August 2012 to coincide with the fourth anniversary of the homophobic murder of Liverpool teen Michael Causer.
The theme of 2012’s Pride was 'Nautical but Nice', a nod to the Liverpool’s maritime heritage. As in previous years the event had stages at the Pier Head and gay quarter around Stanley Street, as well as an LGBT market, food and drink stalls, 2 for 1 tickets on Mersey Ferry cruises, and a Health and Wellbeing zone.
Liverpool and Everton Football Clubs were represented in 2012’s Pride march, the first time in the UK two Premier League football clubs had participated in a Pride.
On Sunday 5 August, the Big Gay Brunch was held at Tate Liverpool and Gay Gardens at Bluecoat Chambers. Bringing the weekend to a close was the Love Music Hate Homophobia event at Leaf on Bold Street, with funds raised donated to the Michael Causer Foundation.
Audience figures for Liverpool Pride 2012 reached a record 52,000.
Kindly donated to the Museum of Liverpool by Liverpool Pride.
