The design on this blue jasper plaque is taken from the wax on slate, LL 1391. A series of moulds and casts were taken from LL 1391 so that the design could be replicated in white jasper which was applied to a blue jasper background. It depicts the figure of Endymion and his hound. Endymion is kept eternally sleeping by the lovestruck Selene.
