Tankard

Tankard with one vertical handle extending above the rim, a tall cylindrical neck and a carinated body. The fabric is of buff clay and the decoration in redding brown is geometric: a band of a continuous triple zig zag line just below the rim ends in a dotted circle by the handle area. A large maeander band filled with parallel diagonal lines along the neck ends in four vertical dotted circles. The carinated body has also a band of a continuous zig zag line which ends in a large dotted circle. The fabric and the shape of the jug may be imitating simiar shapes in metal.
