Information
A rare subject for this artist, most of whose landscapes show the countryside near his native Dundee, Scotland. Patrick became well known for his crisply detailed, brightly coloured, minutely realistic landscapes, which in the 1940s and 50s were widely reproduced as illustrations, cards and posters. In contrast to his oils, often painted over a long period, his watercolours were painted quickly and are more free in style, recording specific effects of light.
