Toothpick box

This box is believed to have been used to contain toothpicks. It is made from ivory and has an inlaid blue jasper plaque on the lid. The blue jasper plaque has white jasper decoration called sprigging and it depicts two winged putti. The plaque is edged in gold. The lid is unusual in that it is hinged at one side.
