Trachemys scripta (Schoepf, 1792)

The species has a weakly keeled, oval carapace which is dark-brown or greenish with transverse yellow bands, reticulations or eye-like spots. The neck has a prominent yellow,orange or red blotch or stripe behind the eye. Length of carapace 13-29 cm.
