Information

Large, very robust lizard with large, broad, triangular head. It has large rough scales and short, blunt tail. It is yellowish-brown to black above, usually with 5-7 narrow and indistinct pale yellow or grey bands on the body and tail, head usually paler, underside cream to white with grey-brown markings. Length up to 42 cm.
