Trench Art; Wine bottle, etched

One of a pair of wine bottles, about 1902, etched while on blockhouse duty by a soldier of the 10th Battalion (Liverpool Scottish) King’s Regiment, serving in South Africa. Etched front: '1900 OUR HERO THE EARL OF DUNDONALE' [sic DUNDONALD] Also shows etched depictions of two Union Jack flags, a crest, bust of the Earl of Dundonald and officer on a horse (assumed to be Dundonald).
