Tropidonophis mairii (Gray, 1841)

A relatively small snake with strong muscular body. Colour varies from grey, brown, olive to black above often with a number of dark crossbands, blotches or flecks. Scales are strongly-keeled with rough, projecting ridges. Length up to 1.2 m.
