Two Chinese cloisonné teacups, of a similar size, but different designs. Cup 'a' has a turquoise body with copper wire inlaid key motif. Laid on top of this are yellow and pink blossoms, with leaves tipped with pale green. A band at the lip of the cup consists of abstracted cloud or bat designs in royal blue, at the base is an abstracted pattern of alternating white and royal blue oblong lozenges, the blue lozenges containing a central strip of red. Cup 'b' has a pale turquoise body with a wider, less refined copper wire inlay of key motifs, laid on top of this is a continuous pattern of vases, incense burners, rishi fungus and manuscripts (all scholar items). A band at the lip consists of abstracted cloud designs in royal blue, at the base is an abstracted pattern of alternating white and green oblong lozenges.
