Information

Eric Robertson was a Scottish artist who moved to Liverpool after the collapse of his first marriage to the artist Cecile Walton (1891 - 1956) in 1923. He was commissioned to create murals for several establishments in the city. These designs are for the pub Peter Kavanagh's, on Egerton Street in the Georgian Quarter, but at the time named the Grapes. The murals in the pub were painted in 1932 and show scenes from Dickens and Hogarth.
