Information

Colour woodblock print mounted on paper. Ukiyo-e depicting a male figure sitting in the foreground and the face of another male figure in a circular border in the top right corner. The outstretched arm and facial expression of the seated figure suggests fear and surprise. The text in the red box in the bottom right hand corner reads from top to bottom "Toyokuni ga", "Toyokuni" being the name of a ukiyo-e of the Utagawa School, and "ga" meaning "painted by." The print appears to be part of a larger piece, however, the other sections have not been found.
