Information

Vase of rouleau form, with cylindrical body and neck, and spreading lip. Powder-blue ground and panels with gilt borders painted in blue. On the sides, two oblong panels with designs of a man fishing from a rock, and rocks and waves over which soars a figure (perhaps a poet) seated on a dragon: on the tail of the dragon is hung a gourd, and in the corner of the picture is a building and a lady looking from behind a curtain. Between them are smaller medallions with hare in landscape, bird on bough, rock, flowering plants, grass-hopper, water weeds, and lobster.
