Information

Vase, one of a pair (to LL 6528), of rouleau form with straight neck and spreading mouth, painted in famille verte enamels, with medallions in powder-blue. The body is covered with peony scrolls and archaic dragons, among which are panels of fan, mirror, pomegranate, and leaf shapes with gilt floral designs and landscapes on a powder-blue ground. On the shoulder is a brocade band with hexagon and quatrefoil patterns broken by four medallions of vases and symbols. On the neck are two panels with landscape and prunus bough set in a ground of netted green, strewn with prunus blossoms. Green key-fret and scroll borders on the mouth and base.
