LL 6775

Ovoid vase, one of a pair (to LL 6774), with ovoid bodies, and short, slightly contracted necks; egg-shell porcelain with orange-peel glaze. Painted in Mandarin style with two scroll-edged panels, surrounded by a brocade pattern of gilt floral scrolls, inset with four leaf and gourd-shaped reserves with floral sprays and insects in pink. In the panels, a shepherd seated outside a house and a beautiful damsel standing before him: the composition of the group suggests European inspiration. Key fret borders gilt.
