LL 6179

Vase, one of a pair (to LL 6180) of hard earthenware, rectangular in shape, decorated with branches of flowers and foliage in turquoise, aubergine, and yellow on crackled turquoise ground. This vase was made for use in China, either as an altar vessel or for burial in a tomb. The fahua style features turquoise and other coloured glazes, usually separated by raised outlines. The vases are light in weight, and were probably made in the southern province of Guangdong.
