Vase

Vase, one of a pair (to LL 6394), with ovoid bodies, slender necks, and flaring mouths. Painted in brown with garden landscape and figures of deities. In the centre is Shou Lao, god of Long Life, between the Twin Genii, one of whom is offering him a pot of chrysanthemums over which hovers a butterfly; over the head of the other is a bat. The whole surface is splashed with yellow, green, and aubergine glazes. Green glaze inside and under the base.
