Jar, one of a pair (to LL 6177), with oval body with return curve above the base, short straight neck, and dome-shaped cover. Painted in famille rose enamels with touches of gilding. The main design consists of flowering peony, peach and magnolia with birds and a clump of chrysanthemums with butterflies. On the shoulders, a band of ju-i (ruyi ''as-you-wish'') shaped lappets with flowers in a ground of red curled scrolls; band of flowers in a pale opaque blue ground above.  On the neck, floral sprays; and above the base, a border of false gadroons enclosing flowers. Cover to match. Base unglazed.
