Vessel

Fragment (sherd) of a painted pottery vessel. The painted blue flower petals decoration is a design similar to actual floral collars made of blue lotus flowers and leaves which were placed on wine jars at festivals. Marked on the back in pencil "Tel el Amarna". Remains of piece of wood stuck to the back from a previous exhibition mounting method (Norwich Castle Museum?). CONDITION NOTE (1998): Previous repair, wood adhered to one, adhesive on surface, red paint on bases, surface dirt, chipped, mottled appearance.
