Vessel with stand

Vessel of square form, one of a pair (to LL 5931), with baluster body, high shoulder, high contracted neck, spreading mouth and foot; two handles in the form of archaic dragons. The sides are ornamented with designs in cloisonné enamels in a turquoise ground; a medallion of fruit and flowers, surrounded by butterflies and lotus scrolls. Fret borders. On the neck, stiff leaf patterns, lotus designs, and border of ju-i (ruyi ''as-you-wish'') heads. Metal bands tooled with gadroon and fret pattern. Black wooden stand.
