Votive Box with a Lizard Figure

Lizard figure on top of a small shrine-shaped box that would have held a votive animal mummy. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Fresh corrosion,wax on surface Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no. 32817 [A]: Snake mummy box in encrusted bronze, with two rings 2 1/8" long 1 1/8" high ¾" wide. Purchased at Sotheby's, London Lot 498 17 December 1924. Ex collection of Gustave Natorp.
