H.M. Prison, Walton also didn't escape the enemy bombing. It is pictured here after being hit by high explosives the previous night, 18 September 1940. Liverpool was hit particularly hard this night and people were left trapped in the debris of the Prison. The jail was hit again the following year on 3 May 1941 resulting in the loss of 15 lives.
