Information

Ovoid shaped jar with two wavy-shaped handles. One of the previous owners, Amy Urlin, assisted W. M. F. Petrie on his excavation of the cemetery at Abydos in 1901, which is the likely source of this object. Diameter of the mouth is 103 mm. Compare shape with W. M. F. Petrie, ‘Prehistoric Egypt Corpus’ (London, 1921) W 41. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Pitted, worn, surface dirt, surface loss.
