Won't You Come Too?

Information

This watercolour is typical of Margetson's specialism in idyllic portraits of elegantly dressed women. The playful title and smiling expression of the young woman are designed to appeal to the sentimental tastes of Edwardian audiences. This would be disrupted by the exhibiton organised by Roger Fry in 1911, which brought the startling post-Impressionists to London audiences, and subsequently came to Liverpool.
