Wooded Landscape with Figure

The location of this landscape has not been identified. Nasmyth moved from Edinburgh to London in 1814, and although he continued to paint Scottish subjects the bulk of his landscapes thereafter were of places in the Home Counties. However, the generic nature of the subject of this work suggests it may be an invented composition.
