Information

Duncan was first apprenticed to the aquatint engraver, Robert Havell, at the age of 16. Afterwards he worked with the marine painter, William John Huggins (1781 – 1845), later marrying Huggins' daughter, Berthia. Duncan also studied drawing at the Artists' Academy in Clipstone Street, London. Worm's Head is a headland at Rhossili, the furthest westerly point of the Gower Peninsula, Wales.
